If you're getting ready to welcome a little one soon (eep! so exciting!), you might be wondering what actually happens at a newborn portrait session. Whether you're a brand-new parent or adding to your growing crew, I promise the session will be calm, cozy, and focused entirely on your baby’s comfort.
Here’s a little peek at what to expect when you come to see me at Joanna Lynn Photography in
London, Ontario!

A Warm & Welcoming Studio
My studio is set up like a little baby haven—warm, quiet, and filled with soft textures, soothing sounds, and the coziest vibes. There’s a comfy spot for you to relax (yes bring your coffee! ☕), and everything your baby needs for their session is already here.
We Go at Baby’s Pace
Sessions usually run about 1–3 hours, but there's zero pressure. Every baby is different, and I build in tons of time for feeding, diaper changes, and snuggles. Whether baby’s sleepy or wide-eyed, I’ll gently guide the flow of the session based on how they’re feeling.

All the Sweet Setups
We’ll start with some adorable wrapped poses to ease baby in, then explore a few more setups with simple, natural props (think soft blankets, tiny headbands, delicate layers). Everything is cleaned, styled, and baby-safe—no need to bring a thing unless you have something special in mind!
Yes, Parents and Siblings Can Join!
Want to hop in a few photos? YES PLEASE! I absolutely love including proud parents and older siblings—it makes the story even sweeter. Don’t worry about what to wear—I’ll guide you with a soft, neutral colour palette and a few helpful tips. (A prep guide is included with all the tips and tricks!)

If you’re dreaming of soft, sleepy portraits of your little one, I’d love to help create them. Inquire today to learn more or reserve your due date!
I can't wait to freeze time for you and capture these first precious moments.
All my love,
Joanna xo
